Find me where the books are

Hi Reader

Have you ever found that place that fills you with immense joy, where your eyes light up, your tummy feels gooey and happy, and your smile grows so wide, it almost hurts? I rediscovered one of mine recently. While it’s not like I haven’t been recently, it seems like I wore a new pair of eyes, and approached it with a different heart posture this time.

My happy place? It’s where the books are. My goodness, I could spend hours in a bookstore. Just the other week, I probably spent over an hour (only leaving because the store had to close and I had a dinner date with my cousin). I left with two books – The Looting Machine by Tom Burgis and Emerging Africa by Kingsley Chiedu Moghalu (for my cousin). I’m looking forward to getting into my book. Let me know if you’ve read it.

While it’s not like I haven’t been recently, it seems like I wore a new pair of eyes, and approached it with a different heart posture this time.

I know, it has been a couple weeks since you last received your weekly dose of wisdom and wellness (forgive me!). Today, I felt the need to share my rekindled flame with one of my first loves – books – hoping that it might inspire you to reconnect with what brings you joy but you haven’t made time out for lately.

What brings you joy, brightens your mood, and reminds you that there is still goodness in the world, in some tight corners and wide-open spaces? I would love to know.

Rediscover those things, let the joy linger, and share it with someone else.

Stay healthy,

Oluwatoni
