Be Someone's Nitro: Your Weekly Dose of Wellness and Wisdom

Hello Reader,

If you’re new here, welcome, welcome. I’m so happy you subscribed to be part of this community and I’m looking forward to sharing some goodness with you, that’ll make your life healthier.

To catch up with what I shared earlier this month, check out email #OA1 and #OA2 here.

Fun fact about me, I was a big fan of car racing games growing up especially Need for Speed and Midnight Club. I loved the thrill of using nitro boosts to surge ahead in races, aiming for first place 😅. What's nitro got to do with anything?

Well, last week, I saw one of my primary school teachers, Mrs O, who I cannot forget. When I was 9/10 years old, she coached me for Abuja’s 1st Spelling Bee despite being a mathematics teacher, and not even one for my year group. The opportunity came for my school to participate in the Spelling Bee, and I was apparently one of few interested. So, our school management agreed for her to coach me. She saw potential and took on the challenge. We LEARNED all the words!!! We put in hours of hard work, practicing after school and on weekends, mastering every word on those flashcards you see in this email.

Thanks to Mrs. O’s coaching, I not only participated but also won the Spelling Bee. Somebody say Toni & The Bee! This was a huge confidence booster, and a marking moment for me. Last week, I got to thank her again for her support, and share my progress since then.

To me, being someone’s nitro means offering support and encouragement that propels them towards success. We can all be that driving force that helps others achieve their goals.

I know sometimes we want and need the nitro ourselves, but hey, can I encourage you to be someone’s nitro today? Our world can be brighter by making someone else win.

I encourage you to reflect on moments when someone was your “nitro”, or you played that role for someone else. You can reply this email, I would love to know.

Stay healthy Reader,

Oluwatoni
